THE OLYMPICS FINAL
Pernille Blume stepped onto the world stage at the 2016 Olympics, where she surprisingly won gold in the 50m freestyle. Her time of 24.07 was the 9th best in the world and earned Denmark its first Olympic gold medal in swimming since 1948. An hour after the gold race, Blume helped win bronze in the 4x100m medley relay, setting a new European record.
